Enlightenment
1) What are the Values of the Enlightenment period?
The Enlightenment was the time where old antique values were reintroduced in Europe, starting in Florence, Rome. It was called the great awakening from the dark ages because of the great come back of art, architecture, science and philosophy from ancient Rome and ancient Greece.
It was the time of great breakthroughs; the catholic church went through a number of schisms and changes and science made new discoveries; heliocentrism to say the least. Many philosophers came up with new laws involving liberty and rights that influenced the future of the world.
Day 2
Slavery
1) Slaves in America were considered property and were treated as such. Afro-Americans were treated as less than humans; working 27/7 in inhumane conditions. Slaves were often seperated from their families when their owners chose to sell them off.
